Chelsea Winger Pedro is back to training following a facial injury after he was clattered by Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina during the pre-season tour of China. This has come as a big boost for the blues ahead of the community shield match against Arsenal this sunday.
Pedro was taken to hospital following the collision with the Colombia international amid fears he had suffered concussion. Conte revealed afterwards that the injury was worse than feared with the 30-year-old forced to stay behind having suffered multiple fractures.
The Italian predicted it would take around 10 days for the Spain international to be in a fit enough state to return to training and so it has proven, albeit wearing a protective mask, and he is now in contention to play a role in Sunday’s Wembley showdown.
Chelsea will still be without Eden Hazard who continues to recover from an ankle injury he picked up on international duty at the end of last season, while Tiemoue Bakyoko could be in line for his debut following his move from Monaco.
